Many Windows users are awaiting to install Windows 7 into their computer. Now, you can  purchase Windows 7 in any major IT stores.

For those who bought a PC or notebook with Windows Vista installed between 26th June, 2009 and 31st January, 2010, you could be eligible for a free Windows 7 upgrade.

To be eligible for free upgrade, please check the Windows Vista part number at Microsoft Upgrade Option page. Next, you will need to contact your PC or notebook manufacturer (e.g. Dell) to ask for the free upgrade.

My laptop hard drive freed up 10 Giga bytes of disk space. So far I doesn't encounter any problem after the upgrade. Hopefully it won't cause any problem later.

How to Check Whether Your Windows Vista Has Installed Service Pack 1

To check whether your Windows Vista has installed Service Pack 1, you will need to open the Window's System Information. Click Start button and right click on "Computer". Select "Properties" from the menu. You will see the words "Service Pack 1" under the "Windows Edition" section.

This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.

It was a bug in MySQLInstanceConfig.exe binary file according to MySQL Bugs. The MySQL version I was running was mysql-essential-5.0.51a-win32.msi. The solve the problem, simply download and install the latest version, version 5.1 or version 6.
