Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is now available for download. The new Internet Explorer 8 comes with some interesting features (and some of them, IMHO is borrowed from other browser).

Internet Explorer 8's Features

Accelerators

Accelerators allow you to perform your browsing task quickly without navigating to other website. For example, with the "Map with Live Maps" Accelerator in Internet Explorer 8, you can get an in-place view of a map displayed directly on the page. All you need to do is to highlight the text on a webpage, right click the highlighted text and select "Map with Live Maps". This feature is a little bit similar to the google chrome's "Search Google for 'keywors'". Instead, IE8 futher enhance this feature to browse for more specific purpose.

InPrivate Browsing

InPrivate browsing allows you to browse a website without saving your history in Internet Explorer. It prevent your browsing history, temporary Internet files, form data, cookies, and usernames and passwords from being retained by the browser, leaving no evidence of your browsing or search history. This feature is good when you browse websites out of you own PC (e.g. cybercafe) and don't want to leave sensitive information on the computer.

This feature is similar to the Google Chrome's "Incognito" feature.

Web Slices

Web slices is like a live feed but with more presentable manner. You can easily keep up with frequently updated sites directly from the new Favorites Bar. To use this feature, the website will need to be "Web Slices" enabled. It is also something similar to the Windows Vista's gadget.

Search suggestions

The instant search feature in Internet Explorer allow you to see a list of relevant results while you are typing. You can go right to the result without finish keying in the request.

SmartScreen Filter

Internet Explorer 8 helps protect you against inadvertent installation of malware, or malicious software which can compromise your data, privacy, and identity while also damaging your computer and valuable data, with the new SmartScreen Filter.

This feature is similar to the Google Chrome's "Safe browsing" where Google Chrome warns you if you're about to visit a suspected phishing, malware or otherwise unsafe website.

Internet Explorer 8 is more stable than IE 7 that is why i like it. I always experience freezing browser window in IE 7.
